EQUIPMENT DATA TOP
Landing Entrances (Slidng Doors): TOP
Each landing entrance is supplied as an integral door/frame assembly and labeled to certify that it has been laboratory tested and listed for a minimum fire separation rating of 1-1/2 hours. Standard hardware included is as follows:


Flush design door panels, sight guards.
Extruded aluminum sills, strut angles.
Headers, hanger covers.
Finish: Prime coat ready to be painted by others.
Power Unit and Controls: TOP
The controller is integrally mounted with the hydraulic power unit and is wired and tested prior to leaving the factory. The salient features of the power unit are as follows:

A hydraulic pump unit is supplied for quite smooth operation. The pump is connected through a flexible coupling to a continuous rated motor of a voltage as required by the individual project. (208V, 3 phase or 220/230V, single phase). The pump and motor are individually sized to provide the required oil flow and pressure to the cylinder.
A relief valve, capable of full bore release is supplied to relieve any pressure which may build up in excess of 24% of the maximum allowable. This valve is tested on site, tagged and sealed by an inspector of the local enforcing authority. Note: Inspections are not always required for residential elevators. Please check with your local dealer representative.
A check valve with a cracking pressure of approximately 5 psi is supplied in the pressure line. This valve automatically opens on start up of the pump and allows full flow of oil to the cylinder. The valve prevents any oil leakage in the cylinder to reservoir direction and is capable of fully supporting the car and it`s rated load on a locked column of oil.
An adjustable flow control device is incorporated in the solenoid down valve to regulate the car down speed in the down direction. The solenoid down valve opens to allow the return of oil to the reservoir when the down button is operated.
A manual lowering valve is included to bypass the solenoid down valve in the event of a main building power failure.
The oil reservoir is supplied with a tank breather with integral filter and filler cap. An oil level gauge is mounted on the front of the tank to visually show oil levels as well as oil temperature.
The suction line is supplied with a filter to prevent dire particles from entering the pump.

Minimum recommended pump room size is 3' x 3'.

Emergency Power Unit: TOP
An emergency lowering power supply to allow the lift to operate in the down direction should the normal building power supply fail.

car platform is constructed of formed steel with 5/8" plywood sub-flooring to be finished by others
all car components including panels are bolted together for easy repair and removal
platform edge on the car side is equipped with an apron extending below the platform floor at least 6" with 2" 30 degree band at the lower edge

Guide and Brackets: TOP
The car guides used are planed, elevator "T" rails, 8#/ft in weight and spliced with machined surface fishplates.Guide rail brackets are bolted through the hoistway enclosure with back-up plates, washers and nuts.Approved elevator guide shoes (minimum of 4 nylon with steel inserts) are used.

1:2 Hydraulic System: TOP

Eliminates the need to drill cylinder hole.
Reduces overhead clearances.
Cylinder and Plunger TOP

The cylinder shall be contructed of steel pipe of sufficient thickness and suitable safety margin. The top of the cylinder shall be equiped with a cylinder head with an internal guide ring and self adjusting packing.
The plunger shall be constructed of a steel shaft of proper diameter machined true and smooth. The plunger shall be provided with a stop electrically welded to the bottom to prevent the plunger from leaving the cylinder.
Cable Minimum two 3/8"
Safety Device TOP
A "slack/broken cable" safety device shall be supplied which will stop ans sustain the elevator and its rated load, if either of the hoisting cables become slack or breaks. The safety device shall be resettable by the operation of the elevator in the upward direction. A switch shall be mounted in such a position to sense the operation of the safety device, and will open the safety circuit to the controller to prevent operation of the elevator in either direction.


Guide Yoke TOP
The 1:2 guide yoke/sheave arrangement shall be supplied with a sheave, guide shoes, roller bearings and adjustable cable guards. The sheave shall be finished with rounded grooves to fit the cables supplied.


Hydraulic Valve TOP
In addition to the standard operating features of the hydraulic control valve, there shall be a pressure sensitive check valve which will activate when negative pressure is sensed in the hydraulic system. The check valve will close and stop the hydraulic jack from descending immediately on sensing of negative pressure.

The car speed is approximately 30 fpm in both directions while carrying rated load.
Shop drawings are prepared by Federal Elevator, using good drafting procedures, and are submitted to the architct and/or customer for approval prior to installation.
License fees are the responsibility of the owner.
The lift contractor will provide three (3) months free service and maintenance from date of approval by inspectors.
The entire lift and all component parts carry a one (1) year guarantee. The guarantee is for the replacement at no cost of defective parts but does not include the labour costs required to replace the defective part(s).
